Movie of the Month!
I felt the blog could do with a new look for the new year!
I was very excited today when I discovered that our film ‘Happy Ever After’ won the Movie of the Month award over at Sims99.com! A huge thank you to everyone that either voted, reviewed or watched the film, we’re very honoured to hold this award. Thank you to everyone that has sent us well wishes, we’ve been incredibly touched by them.
It’s also an important month for Sims99, as it celebrates it’s first anniversary this month, with a variety of games, contests and activities planned for a month long party.
After suffering with the flu over most of the holiday, I’ve finally gotten around to helping Kheri build sets for our newest music video. Hopefully, we’ll start filming later in the week.

Hmmm,
Working on sets for your next video huh? I think I’m anxious :). No chance you can give me a hint to what the new video might be huh? Whatever it is I’m looking forward to seeing it.
Cheers

Thanks Jules! About the new vid…well, all I’ll say is that it’s not a period or costume drama!

Very well done for your excellent movies. I’ve been teaching ballads to my college students and I downloaded “The Highwayman” for them to view it. They love it! Your “Happy Ever After” is superb!
BTW I also teach Media Studies to AS and A2 students. I’m sure that your work will be inspirational for them!

Hi Dogberry,
Wow, we’re amazed to imagine a class watching our video!! Maybe one day Machinima will be a subject taught at school/college.
Thanks for taking the time to leave us such a lovely message, we’re really thrilled our videos have been useful in this way

Thanks, for your answer, Michelle. I’ve posted “Happy Ever After” on the College Intranet. (Hope that’s OK with you.) I’ve also shown it to one of my colleagues, who like me, had never heard of making movies in this way. He’ll contact the exam board to see if they would accept student movies in this format. Personally, I don’t see why not - all the main aspects of film language are there.
BTW the students can’t believe the trouble that you both have taken over the sets, etc. Such detail!
Looking forward to your next production. If you are fishing around for future ideas how about Yeats’s “The Stolen Child”?

Loreena McKennitt does a great song for that one. Your colleague, Kheri will know it if you do not.
All the best, Dogberry (Frank)

We’re flattered that you posted the video on the college intranet, Frank :). Thanks for the song suggestion, we’re always looking out for interesting and new ideas.
