A Special Thank You
Shortly before Christmas I saw a competition advertised on Machinima.com for the The Global Gaming Life Holiday Contest, it was a Christmas film competition and the prize an XBox 360. I’d really wanted to get my boys one for Christmas but couldn’t afford it. I’d already built sets and scrapped one film half-way through because I didn’t think it was good enough. Then over the Christmas weekend, I developed flu/tonsilitis and Kheri spent a whole day arranging music for my film, with software she’d never used before and encouraged me to persevere with it, even though I felt like giving up, I submitted it anyway, I wish I could have worked on it a bit more, but not feeling well and having a time constraint I did what I could.
Thank you, Kheri, I couldn’t have done it without your support and music!

I stumbled upon this blog by accident, and I just wanted to comment on the above “Happy Ever After” video. That was very cool and impressive. While watching, I continuously thought about how close the character designs seemed to be to The Sims, so when I saw on your site that you used The Sims programs to make this… I was actually in awe.
It’s obvious that a lot of work was put into this, and I just wanted to make sure that it did not go unnoticed. Keep up the great work!

I wanted to make a comment about “The First Time” Video. Okay, first of all, the guy you made for the video was hot looking LOL. Secondly I love how you did the beach scenes with him walking along and the water rippling in the background. That waterfall thing you did in the cemetery was a cool touch too. Nice theme and a nice song.
I watched the “Santa Says” too and I laughed pretty hard. That was just too cute.
Keep it up!

Hehehe, I’m sorry I seem like I’m ranting on here, but I just have a quick question:
I’ve been looking to make a sims video with an ocean background or the “green screen” effect for a while now, only I don’t know how to make it possible. Can you give me an idea how to do it, or maybe direct me to a site that could give me a tutorial on it?
Thanks

Jules, first of all, not sure what editor you’re using, but does it have chroma-keying for the green/bluescreening?
The little simmie guy was picked especially for his cuteness
Glad you liked it! (and him hehe)

I have two programs: MedianSoft and VirtualDub.
Median Soft comes in handy when I piece the videos together. VirtualDub adds effects like black and white, etc. One of the filters in there is something called “Chroma Smoother”. I don’t know if that handles the whole bluescreen thing or not. Hmmm, I’ll have to do some research into that.
