Machinima Links

February 16th, 2006 by Michelle

I came across a site recently run by Ebsim and Simquel, who have set themselves up as Sims 2 movies critics. What I found interesting about their site and led me to read more, was their stance on not ’sugar-coating’ reviews, not only that but they watch each movie fives times so they can give a fair a review as possible. It makes a change in a community such as the Sims 2, where many reviews are simply empty praises.

Check out The Critics here.

On another note, the link page to Machinima Premiere has changed. This is a great place for anyone looking for another site to promote their movies. It’s gradually drawing in new members and some excellent films. It’s also a platform to review and rate movies, as well as receive feedback for your own movies from machinamators that use various game engines, not just The Sims 2.

For anyone serious about Machinima, there are a couple of blogs of note, which make excellent reading.

In a recent post Nathan Moller (”Mu Nansen”) puts the case for the perspective on machinima as a career:

Meanwhile Phil ‘Overman’ Rice has written a couple of posts about what’s currently been on my mind and Kheri’s lately, one concerning the snobbery in the machinima community surrounding games such as The Sims 2 and The Movies:
