First Ever Online Machinima Film Festival Opens
In preparation for May 2007 the OMFF website opened today, the first ever online machinima film festival:
“This new project is designed to provide an online alternative to the annual Machinima Film Festival. So that there will now be two major film festivals each year, dedicated solely to machinima. But unlike the MFF, the OMFF will take place exclusively online. A first priority is to gather enough members to make the project worth carrying forward. Even if you are only considering taking part in the later stages of the programme, please register now so that we can gauge the level of interest.
I do not expect (although it is impossible to tell!) this to be a very active site in the sense that once registered, it will only be necessary for members to visit the site once every couple of months, or even less at certain times of the year, just to keep up-to-date with events. And there will be notification by email of the major events in the calender as well.”
Hopefully, plenty of Sims 2 machinimators and viewers will be signing up to show their support for The Sims 2 as an excellent engine for machinima. It looks to be a fun and exciting project.
