The One Minute Movie Challenge got off to a flying start last week, with a “no sims/avatar in sight” theme, with a mention on The Overcast  and making the “news” over at machinima.com/. The six entries, including one of our own, were very diverse. We’ve showcased the six movies on a mini page, designed by Jovial of Jovial Productions and hope to make this a regular feature, time allowing.

The initial idea for the challenge was devised by a few of the members of our Machinima Talk forum to promote community spirit and move the focus back onto the movie-making, following the recent controversies.

Challenge #2 has already been posted and the theme is “Name That Sin”:

“……Up to one minute of actual presentation (additional time is allowed for titles and credits), and you are to choose from the list of the Seven Cardinal Sins (Pride, Greed, Lust, Envy, Gluttony, Wrath, and Sloth). To make it more interesting, please do not indicate which sin you have chosen to depict, and after the films are released, we all will guess, and then you may or may not tell us if we were right or wrong. Submission deadline is July 6th”

The challenge is open to all members of the Machinima Talk forum, using any game engine or machinima tool. We look forward to your entries!
