I’ve found it..

..my ideal virtual movie screen that is. Still wistfully dreaming of building my own cinema to screen our films in Second Life, I happened to visit Silverscreen Island. A couple of weeks ago this sim was host to the “300″ press event and movie expo. “300″ author Frank Miller, co-writer/director Zack Snyder, and cast members Gerard Butler, Lena Headey and Rodrigo Santoro had custom avatars created especially for the event by Adam & Eve. Absolutely worth a visit if just to pick up free copies of the beautifully designed costumes and accessories by Adam & Eve (see the slideshow, with my avatar doing a Lena Headey impression). Unmissable though is the 3D spartan village movie set, complete with mist, sound effects and a deep pit with animated rodents.

Now, that’s what I call a virtual movie screen! Well, I can dream. Any kind person/s wanting to sponser a Britannica Dreams machinima theatre on that scale, please feel free to contact me ;).

If you have a chance pop along and visit Silverscreen for yourself, take a look at some of the “300″ related Second Life artwork and auditoriums, as well as the amazing movie set.

The OMFF Cocktail Party

March 28th, 2007 by Michelle

It’s probably the only cocktail party I’ve been to that I didn’t get a hangover from, but it was a great success and nice opportunity to meet other machinimators. Thanks to Mach (Rohan Fermi) for the pics and to HatHead, who did a tremendous job as party host.

For the rest of the pictures from the party visit the mprem gallery.

Ceedj Beaumont (from Pawfect Films) and myself doing a pretty good Torvil and Dean impression, minus the ice skates though!.

Cirque du Machinima: The Cuckoo Clock

March 20th, 2007 by Michelle

Cirque du Machinima: The Cuckoo Clock

Just a quick post to plug the most gorgeous piece of machinima I’ve seen since Anna. It’s produced by Tom Jantol (Awaken at mprem) and it’s the first part of an experimental series, as Tom has decided to make creating machinima his full-time occupation and will be releasing one episode a month.
